Under the organization of the Consell Comarcal de les Garrigues, the Les Garrigues International Guitar Festival will take place between July 2 and August 29. It will be two intense months with 12 exclusive experiences that will include visits, gastronomic pairings and concerts by national and international artists, promising young people and established masters.

This event is held in tribute to the master guitarist, pedagogue and musicologist from Garrigues Emili Pujol, an international representative figure of the guitar instrument in the 20th century. The festival wants to bring together the highest manifestations of music for plucked strings and promote cultured music as a cultural expression in all corners of his native land.

As in recent years, the classical guitar will be the main instrument along with the rest of the family (hand viola, baroque and romantic guitar) and will be accompanied by a chamber ensemble with other instruments such as violin, flute, percussion, the double bass or the sung and recited voice. It will therefore offer a whole musical variety enriched with a stylistic range of repertoire that ranges from classic to contemporary.

The inauguration, on Thursday, July 2, at 1:00 p.m., will present a brief gastro-musical tasting in Barcelona that the different towns in the region can also enjoy during the summer.
