A total of 25 students will receive classes from the great guest teachers in the first International Guitar, Lute and Vihuela Course taught by Les Garrigues, a course in memory of Emili Pujol from La Granadella, which begins this Monday and will take place at Les Borges Blanques throughout this first week of July.

According to the Culture technician of the Consell Comarcal de Les Garrigues, Isidre Pinyol, “we have far exceeded the number of registered people that we had initially anticipated.” The participating students come from Catalonia, but also from other parts of the world, such as Venezuela.

Apart from receiving theoretical and technical lessons, within the course throughout these days there will also be other proposals, such as a visit from a luthier and other talks that will be open to the general public who have previously signed up.

The concerts continue

The next event in the festival program will be on July 5 at 10:00 p.m. at the Les Borges Civic Center.

It will be the turn of the American lutist master Hopkinson Smith, a disciple of Emili Pujol and a fervent follower of his musicological school of ancient plucked string instruments.
At the end of the concert, attendees will be able to try local products, a novelty at this year’s festival and which they have dubbed “experiences with senses.”

But before Hopkinson’s concert, as is usual in the concerts of this edition of the festival, a young guitarist from the Les Garrigues music school, Joel Rodero, will give way.
