From the end of July until September you can enjoy different guitar performances in towns in the Garrigues. The presentation event in Lleida took place yesterday at the Institut d’Estudis Ilerdencs even though the first day was already held last July 19 at the Centre Comarcal Lleidatà in Barcelona with the performance of the Mexican duo Amoria.

This festival was created as a project that La Granadella guitarist and musicologist Emili Pujol devised in the 70s, promoting, as a cultural expression, cultured music in his native land. To commemorate the 125th anniversary of the birth of the insignia master, the festival wants to bring cultural expressions and initiatives closer to the Garriguen towns. At the same time, it wants to be a meeting point for plucked string instrumental music, vihuela and lute, propagating the musicological work of the artist throughout his life.

Next July 27 this initiative will visit the capital of the Garrigues. The Casa de la Cultura will host from 10.30pm a guitar performance by the duo Ribera-Sàbat.
