EMILI PUJOL AND THE POPULAR GUITARR

Izan Rubio – classical guitar

Dueduido with the Gold Melómano Seal to the renowned music magazine Melómano for his record work Poniente by the composer José Galeote, he has been a resident musician at the Fundación Catalunya – La Pedrera during the Season 2017 to 2018. He presents a heartfelt tribute to the 40 years of the disappearance of the teacher Emili Pujol, with a selection of reference works by the teacher such as Fernando Sor, Ludwig van Beethoven, Francisco Tárrega, Heitor Villa-lobos, his friend Miquel Llobet and his own works.

Garrigues Guitar Festival

International meeting of plucked string instruments with the manifestation of the highest figures of all time, thus recovering and disseminating the figure and the musicological work carried out by the master pedagogue Emili Pujol throughout his life. It was born in 2012 as a musical proposal that the master Pujol himself projected in the 1970s, promoting, as a cultural expression, music to all corners of his native land.

Where is it done?

They develop between the towns of the Garrigues region and some of the Historic Garrigues, in the province of Lleida.

When is it organized?

It is organized during the summer season, from the end of June, the beginning of July to the end of August.
