Emili Pujol International Guitar Competition is a classical guitar performance contest for guitarists up to 35 years old, with the purpose of learning about and illustrating their compositional work.

It takes place in the Auditorium of the Civic Center of La Granadella, a town in the Garrigues region, in the province of Lleida, where the maestro Emili Pujol was born, the town’s favorite son.

1. Iluminario Associació and the Cercle Guitarrístic a Catalunya, organizers of the Emili Pujol International Guitar Competition, announces the second edition to be held in La Granadella, on July 20 and 21, 2024.
2. The Contest is open, regardless of nationality, to guitarists up to 35 years of age. Those contestants who obtained the first prize in previous editions will not be able to participate.
3. The Contest will take place in the Auditorium of the La Granadella Civic Center (Lleida), where the presentation and draw of the order of participation will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 10:00 am. The contestant’s non-presentation implies his automatic disqualification.
4. Travel, accommodation and living expenses will be borne by the participants. Registered accommodation will be provided with significant discounts.
5. Participants waive any right to the recordings that may be made during the Contest.
6. Registration in the Contest implies acceptance of the bases and the final decision of the jury. It also gives the right to attend concerts preferentially and completely free of charge.
7. Everything that is not specified in the Bases is not the responsibility of the Organizing Commission.
8. On the amounts awarded as prizes, the corresponding tax withholding will be made according to current legislation.
9. Prizes may increase. Its concretion will be informed at the end of the registration period.

10. The Contest comprises two rounds:
– FIRST ROUND – CLASSIFICATION. Saturday, July 20, 10:00 am. For all participants. Obligatory work “Bagatela”, Emili Pujol and a work of free choice maximum 5 minutes.
– SECOND ROUND – FINAL. Sunday, July 30, 7:00 pm. For the three finalists. Obligatory work “Barcarola”, Emili Pujol and a work of free choice maximum 8 minutes.

11. The following prizes are awarded:
– 1st PRIZE: 1.500€ and Honorary Diploma. Recording of an audiovisual produced by IRS Produccions and promotion through social networks. Concerts at the next edition of the Garrigues Guitar Festival Memorial Emili Pujol and at Art Llobet, the Guitar and Arts Festival in Barcelona.
– 2nd PRIZE: 1.000€ and Honorary Diploma.
– 3rd PRIZE: 500€ and Honorary Diploma.
And the special awards:
– PUJOL AWARD, for the best interpretation of Emili Pujol’s work: Honorary Diploma. Scholarship to participate in the next edition of the Campus Emili Pujol – Guitar Clinic in Torrebesses, Lleida.
– AUDIENCE AWARD: Honorary Diploma. Concert in the next edition of the Garrigues Guitar Festival Memorial Emili Pujol
